Spain ranks 41st in the World Happiness Report 2026
The annual World Happiness Report 2026 has been published. The research results showed that a high income level has ceased to be the main guarantee for top positions in the ranking. Countries with strong social connections, a high level of trust in society, and a measured lifestyle have taken the lead.
Finland traditionally remains at the top of the list, while the main phenomena of the year were Costa Rica (4th place) and Mexico (12th place). These states bypassed many economically developed countries, confirming the importance of social comfort.
Spain dropped to the 41st position in the current ranking, placing between Kuwait and Guatemala. The country yielded not only to European neighbors, such as France and Italy, but also to a number of Latin American states.
