A unified travel pass for all modes of transportation will be introduced in 2026
The Spanish government initially planned to cancel free train and bus passes, following other support measures introduced during the Covid era. But suddenly...
... It was decided to extend the benefits for another six months, and then, for the following six months, the discounts will be reduced, ultimately transitioning to a unified travel pass in 2026.
The unified public transport ticket will allow anyone to use trains, metro, trams, and buses across Spain. The Ministry of Transport is inspired by the German model, where a monthly pass costs 49 euros and has been valid since May 2023. This pass covers all modes of transport except high-speed trains.
❗️100% discounts on Cercanías, Rodalies, Media Distancia, and state-run bus routes will remain in effect until June 30, 2025.
